Lobster roll!

It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that lobster is pretty much my favorite food ever. And when it’s combined with tasty mayo and served on a hot dog bun, then it’s pretty much heaven-on-earth. I was fortunate enough to be able to consume five lobster rolls while on vacation earlier this month! That’s what I call a good vacation. Pictured above is one that I ate at Halls Harbour Lobster Pound in Nova Scotia (a place that we checked out on the recommendation of Taylor’s boss). It was definitely tasty and the cole slaw came served in a scallop shell!

But the very best lobster roll of this trip (and possibly ever?) came from The Dolphin Marina and Restaurant in South Harpswell. The lobster was incredibly fresh, cooked perfectly (and possibly explicitly for my sandwich) and it was totally dee-lishis. Although I didn’t indulge in it myself, the fish chowder is served with a freshly baked and still warm blueberry muffin. In short: the Dolphin quickly sky-rocketed as a big winner in my book.

The greatest meal ever

This was by far the greatest meal we’ve ever had. We were at the Harraseeket Lobster Pound in South Freeport Maine (SoFreeMe). Pictured above is our lobster roll (with fries, of course), onion middles (the greatest thing since, well, onion rings…they use the big part of the onion to make onion rings, then batter and fry the inside little rings), and a home made whoopie pie. We washed it all down with some lemonade. As soon as we were done eating, we were immediately reminiscent about life 20 minutes ago, before we had consumed our delicious lunch. We can’t say enough good things about this place.

At the end of August, we went up to Maine to visit Taylor’s Tante Jackie and Uncle David. While we were in Maine, we ate lobster for about five consecutive meals (which was totally fine with us!) Here’s a picture of Dana ambitiously enjoying a whole lobster at the Pine Point Fisherman’s Co-Op – a really cool place that had delicious and reasonable Maine seafood. Good times!
