Some signs that you may have been at a great Oscar’s party…

There’s a full moon out tonight!

Good times, good times.

Another snowy day on Fifth Avenue!

Although it’s not causing as much chaos as in London, the snow did cause my class tonight to be cancelled because my professor is snowed-in upstate.  Good times…and pretty too.

A good day for ramen!

A few weeks ago on a yucky cold day much like today, we both had pretty lousy days. We decided that only one thing could make up for our bad days: magical ramen from Menchanko-Tei (and a couple pitchers of Sapporo couldn’t possibly hurt either). Here’s some food porn from our very favorite ramen place (well until we hit up the home of Obamaramen anyway…)

Murray’s Salami Pig-Heavenly Challange Winner

We were really excited when Murray’s Cheese opened up a meat shop in Grand Central Market that’s filled with fantastic, cured meats. We were even more happy when Murray’s responded to our favorite blog and opened up a contest to design a pre-packaged meat selection that can easily be put on a roll and turned into a sandwich. And today we are most happy that the winner of this challenge is The Magical Animal which we were able to eat for lunch today. Magical Animal offers four different kinds of pork: prosciutto, Niman Ranch ham, Porchetta Primata, and salame rossa. For $.50 you can grab a roll from the bakery next door, and after some quick assembly at your place of business, you have a fantastic sandwich (and lunch for tomorrow as well, because this is easily enough meat for two sandwiches). Pictured above is Taylor’s sandwich…because Dana’s didn’t live long enough to be photographed. Maybe tomorrow.

All in all, I think that the Magical Animal bodes well for a solid 2009.
