Vacation photo wallpapers help maintain vacation “feel” while back in cubicle…

As much as I’d like to continue to pretend that I am still on vacation in Nova Scotia and Maine, after a full week back in my cube, there seems to be no denying that it is sadly over. Luckily, foreseeing this sad turn of events, we took a whole bunch of “wallpaper-worthy” photos for use as computer wallpaper for the next month! This picture is my current computer wallpaper – it was the view from the bed & breakfast where we stayed in NS. Enjoy!

Some floral wallpaper for a rainy day…

Here’s a little floral wallpaper to brighten your rainy Friday! This is currently the wall paper on my computer – it’s a picture of foxglove taken in the conservatory at the New York Botanical Garden. Enjoy!

Weekend in DC

I would like to start this post by apologizing to all of our loyal readers (ha ha) for not updating in quite some time. I’ve heard reports that waves of disappointment crash over people every time they go onto our site and see that picture of falafel! The past few weeks have been very hectic, but I’ll try to be more on top of posting…

Last weekend we went down to DC to visit some of our Trinity crew. As is to be expected, we had a really great weekend filled with catching up, exploring, and (of course) Seth’s almost-world-famous-double-top-secret-tour-of-the-Capital (if you haven’t yet experienced it, I’d encourage you to hit Seth up on your next trip to our nation’s Capital). We also coincidentally ended up being down there for the peak weekend of the cherry blossom festival and were treated to throngs of tourists, and some very beautiful flowers around the tidal basin.

Of course, food featured prominently in the weekend and (despite being accused of conspiring to drag people all over the city to indulge my cravings) we were also able to hit up two of my favorite DC eats: Moby Dick’s House of Kebob and Ben’s Chilli Bowl. Both of which were fabulous ways to break our three week wheat-dairy-sugar-starch-alcohol free stint.

PS: The photo above is my current computer wallpaper…hence, the “wallpaper” tag.

A quick break from food posts…

We are taking a quick break from posting our epicurean adventures in London and Paris to quickly bring you this pretty picture of the Eiffel Tower. It’s currently my wallpaper on my computer at work so I’m putting it into the “suitable for wallpaper” category on this site. We loved the twinkling show that the Eiffel Tower put on every hour – and we even stayed awake one night until 1AM, when they turn the main lights off and just let the sparkles shine. (We continue to love la Tour Eiffel all lit up, even though it’s probably mostly powered by nuclear power…) If you are so inclined, you can check out all of our photos from our trip on our Flickr site.

(Secretly the reason that I am not posting a food picture right now is because Taylor and I are in day 3 of an-up-to-three-week stint of being off of dairy, sugar, wheat, pretty much all complex carbohydrates, and [sigh] booze. I think that reliving some of our heavenly meals in Paris and London may be just a little too painful today…)

Suitable for Framing

The George Washington Bridge over the Hudson is the most beautiful bridge in the world…When your car moves up the ramp the two towers rise so high that it brings you happiness; their structure is so pure, so resolute, so regular that here, finally, steel architecture seems to laugh. – Le Corbusier

On special occasions, the George Washington Bridge gets lit up like the Eiffel Tower. Here’s a picture of the GWB on Thanksgiving! We think it’s suitable for framing…or at least, suitable for your wallpaper.

Sorry for the dearth of postings in the past few weeks, we’ll try to keep it more regular (we’re upping our daily fiber intake accordingly). T & D
